"Pickards" at the heart of the community, fighting through Financial struggles,
Through the eyes of the business man
Radio documentary of Yatin Patel
By Samantha Kingston
Yatin Patel, works full time in his family run shop 'Pickards' which they have owned for the past six years. Working long hours, seven days a week, he works incredibly hard to maintain good quality service and community spirit, along with trying to keep a social life and keeping his wife and family happy. Through recent financial struggles and competition of new retail stores opening around the corner from 'Pickards' Yatin reveals the truth behind the 'reality' he Indore's everyday. They have become well known through the Winchester community, if mentioned everyone knows 'Pickards'. From mothers, children on their way from school, teenagers to and from from college, fathers on their way home from work. Then of course myself visiting every Saturday and Sunday for work. This is my Radio documentary feature, looking at the real effort put in to keep it running.
